My name is Ángel, Illustrator and 2D Artist. I mainly create illustrations and assets for video games, comics, books, covers, and board games. Much of my work features characters, scenes, and fantasy backgrounds with different
levels of realism.
At the end of 2020, I started working on my firstcommissions designing characters for role playing games. In 2021, I worked as the lead 2D artist for the video game Deadwater Saloon, developed by Creative Storm Entertainment. In 2022 and 2023, I began working on the comic Olympus High, with Bernardo Teles as the writer,
and funded through Kickstarter.
Today, I continue to seek new job opportunities while honing my skills through commissions and
personal projects.
Elite warriors of the Alvar Hegemony—a society representing the «elf» archetype in my worldbuilding. In ancient times, the Alvar were a species averse to warfare, shunning conflict and choosing to hide whenever danger arose. Furthermore, their reproduction rates were far lower than those of other species, leaving them cornered at a critical juncture. After centuries of demographic shifts, conflicts with foreign powers, and near-extinction, the peaceful Alvar organized themselves under a government model designed to surpass—and thereby counter—the geopolitical power of human societies. Their obsession with mathematical perfection led them to achieve near-total dominance over the continent, subjugating other powers through networks of population control. They were so successful that they managed to overthrow the era’s dominant human power, relegating the remaining humans to a society of isolated tribes.
The Alvar wield absolute diplomatic power; however, when issues cannot be resolved through manipulation, their ultimate recourse lies with these warriors—the elite of their ranks. These men and women spent their entire lives tempering their hatred for their people’s enemies, forging themselves into perfect warriors. While a human might overpower an Alvar through brute force, the precision, agility, and martial expertise of one of these warriors allow them to match five humans in combat.
Their distinctive armor became renowned for its unique material composition. While their adversaries possessed the resources to manufacture high-quality steel, the Alvar had access only to bronze—evident in their scale mail and breastplate reinforcements—reserving the scarce steel they could acquire solely for weapon manufacturing. This necessity led them to discover a unique substitute for their armor. It is a hardened ceramic (zirconium dioxide) whose manufacturing methods have been lost to history. These plates offered a hardness slightly lower than steel but were much lighter, allowing for faster movement with less energy expenditure. However, their disadvantage is that they crack and shatter upon sustaining heavy blows, unlike metals, which allow for easier repair.
Their helmets are also distinctive for their masks—separate pieces that lock onto the front of the helmet when combat approaches.
Their line troops consist of ranks of warriors wielding glaives for greater reach and maneuverability in close-quarters combat, carrying short swords as backup weapons. They never adopted the use of shields, as they are not particularly sturdy, and their superior ranged capabilities provided cover for the melee warriors.
